The Canadian Civil Liberties Association has sent a letter to Ontario’s Big City Mayors in response to their “Reaction to Recovery” campaign and call for urgent provincial action on mental health, drug toxicity and homelessness. CCLA’s letter urges mayors to support solutions grounded in human dignity, autonomy and Charter rights, including affordable and supportive housing, community-based care, voluntary treatment, harm reduction and strong protections against coercion.
