Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Canadian Civil Liberties Association and Education Trust! We are thankful for the involvement of individuals who generously donate their time, expertise and passion to advance our work to defend and protect civil liberties. Whether it is lending a hand at our events or campaigns, helping out on our administrative team, conducting research relating to CCLA’s ongoing advocacy efforts, or pitching in wherever the need is greatest – we appreciate the support of all our volunteers.
Summer law student volunteer opportunities
The Canadian Civil Liberties Association has a number of summer volunteer opportunities available for law students and law graduates in 2018. Applicants should be aware that these positions are strictly volunteer opportunities for which the CCLA does not offer compensation of any kind. However, in some cases volunteers have been able to secure sponsorship of their work for CCLA through law school fellowships, or other externally funded sources, or have been able to obtain course credit through law school internships.
For information about summer legal volunteer opportunities at CCLA, please see our application guide.
Fall/Winter legal volunteers
If you are a student attending a Canadian law school and are interested in volunteering during the school year, please talk to your local Pro Bono Students representative regarding a CCLA placement.
General volunteer opportunities
CCLA receives many volunteer requests, and while we do not always have projects that require volunteer assistance, we will keep your contact information and get in touch should opportunities arise. To volunteer with CCLA, please fill out our Google Form here, and indicate which areas interest you (i.e. administration, research, multimedia, police, etc.). If you have any questions, please email our Director of Administration, Rayna Fletcher, rfletcher [at] ccla.org
Education volunteer opportunities
Want to join a team of legal experts and educators to deliver cutting-edge democratic literacy programs in schools and faculties of education? While we do not always have projects that require volunteer assistance, we will keep your contact information and get in touch should we need assistance.
To volunteer with CCLET, please email our Director of Administration, Rayna Fletcher, rfletcher [at] ccla.org for a copy of our volunteer form.
Please note that we have had some technological difficulties with the volunteer form that was previously available from this page. If you submitted a form and did not hear from us, please accept our apologies, and email Rayna Fletcher at the address above.
