Help us Win the Aviva Grant – Vote for CCLA’s Know Your Rights Project

October 11, 2017

This month, the Canadian Civil Liberties Association has a unique opportunity to create an exciting project, and we need your votes to do it!

In communities across Canada, racial profiling, police accountability, privacy and surveillance, peaceful protest and dissent, freedom of religion and freedom from religion, mental health, and the right to clean water and food are just some of the issues that may be of interest and deep concern.

CCLA’s proposed project will create a few partnerships in diverse communities, where everyone can share their stories, and CCLA can provide answers and resources to help make a difference. For more details, see here.

We have applied to the Aviva Community Fund for $54,000 to make this happen – and to win, all we need is to bring the most votes. If you register, you can vote 18 times (in a row, if you like). And if you bring some friends, and they bring some friends, we can make our project a reality. Once registered, and in order to vote, from the main page scroll down and enter “CCLA” in the search box. This will take you to CCLA’s project.

That’s why we’re reaching out to you today! In order to vote for CCLA’s Know Your Rights Project, you can register here – we’d love it if we can count on you for all 18 votes!

Registration is now open and voting closes on October 19, 2017. To make the most of these 8 days, we’re asking that in addition to voting right away, you share this email with five of your contacts, ask them to do the same, and share this on social media.

Thank you for your support—together we’ll connect with more communities to share stories and protect rights! Stay updated on our Facebook group.
