L'ACLC croit qu'un solide r\u00e9gime d'acc\u00e8s \u00e0 l'information est essentiel \u00e0 une d\u00e9mocratie dynamique. Les informations sur le fonctionnement de notre gouvernement aident les gens \u00e0 faire des choix \u00e9clair\u00e9s dans les urnes, \u00e0 participer de mani\u00e8re significative aux discussions sur les politiques et constituent un moyen de garantir que les membres du gouvernement sont tenus responsables de leurs d\u00e9cisions.<\/p>\n

Comme de nombreux groupes de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 civile, l'ACLC a demand\u00e9 \u00e0 maintes reprises des modifications importantes \u00e0 la\u00a0Loi sur l'acc\u00e8s \u00e0 l'information\u00a0<\/em>et, plus largement, pour des changements dans la fa\u00e7on dont notre syst\u00e8me d'acc\u00e8s fonctionne dans la pratique. Le gouvernement f\u00e9d\u00e9ral a entrepris un examen de la\u00a0Loi sur l'acc\u00e8s \u00e0 l'information\u00a0<\/em>et a sollicit\u00e9 les commentaires du public. L'ACLC estime que l'examen actuel du gouvernement est, dans une large mesure, inutile. Les r\u00e9formes n\u00e9cessaires pour am\u00e9liorer notre syst\u00e8me sont connues depuis des ann\u00e9es et font l'objet de nombreuses recommandations formul\u00e9es par plusieurs, dont le Commissaire \u00e0 l'information du Canada et le Comit\u00e9 permanent de l'acc\u00e8s \u00e0 l'information, de la protection des renseignements personnels et de l'\u00e9thique de la Chambre des communes. L'ACLC croit qu'une r\u00e9forme imm\u00e9diate, significative et ambitieuse de notre syst\u00e8me d'acc\u00e8s est imp\u00e9rative. Les soumissions de l'ACLC \u00e0 l'examen f\u00e9d\u00e9ral mettent en \u00e9vidence certains domaines prioritaires cl\u00e9s.<\/p>\n
