L'Association canadienne des libert\u00e9s civiles est alarm\u00e9e par le recours \u00e0 la force par des agents du service de police r\u00e9gional de Durham contre l'avocate de la d\u00e9fense Sudine Riley au palais de justice d'Oshawa le 23 janvier 2026. Mme Riley aurait \u00e9t\u00e9 sortie de force d'une pi\u00e8ce du palais de justice, on lui aurait enlev\u00e9 son foulard, elle aurait \u00e9t\u00e9 bless\u00e9e physiquement et d\u00e9tenue dans une cellule.<\/p>\n

Tout incident impliquant l'usage pr\u00e9sum\u00e9 de la force contre un avocat dans un palais de justice soul\u00e8ve de s\u00e9rieuses pr\u00e9occupations quant \u00e0 l'\u00c9tat de droit et \u00e0 l'administration de la justice. Les avocats doivent pouvoir repr\u00e9senter leurs clients et assister aux audiences sans craindre l'intimidation ou la violence.<\/p>\n

L'ACLC se fait l'\u00e9cho de l'appel lanc\u00e9 par d'autres organisations juridiques et de d\u00e9fense des droits en faveur d'une enqu\u00eate rapide et ind\u00e9pendante sur cet incident, incluant une expertise sur le racisme anti-Noir. Ces mesures sont n\u00e9cessaires pour garantir l'impartialit\u00e9 de l'enqu\u00eate et la confiance du public dans l'administration de la justice.<\/p>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\t\t\t<\/div> \n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div> \n<\/div><\/div>\n\t\t
