L'Association canadienne des libert\u00e9s civiles accueille favorablement le rapport annuel 2024-2025 du Bureau de l'enqu\u00eateur correctionnel (BEC). Les conclusions du rapport mettent en \u00e9vidence des tendances alarmantes dans le syst\u00e8me correctionnel f\u00e9d\u00e9ral en ce qui concerne la prestation de soins de sant\u00e9 mentale. La conclusion du BEC selon laquelle il est \" tout \u00e0 fait clair que le SCC est fondamentalement mal \u00e9quip\u00e9 pour fournir des soins de sant\u00e9 mentale \u00e0 long terme aux personnes atteintes d'une maladie mentale grave \" exige une attention et une action urgentes.<\/p>\n

L'ACLC demande au Service correctionnel du Canada et au gouvernement f\u00e9d\u00e9ral de prendre des mesures significatives en r\u00e9ponse aux recommandations exhaustives du BEC. Les personnes atteintes de troubles mentaux d\u00e9tenues par le gouvernement f\u00e9d\u00e9ral comptent parmi les membres les plus vuln\u00e9rables de notre soci\u00e9t\u00e9. Elles m\u00e9ritent un syst\u00e8me qui leur offre un traitement ad\u00e9quat, assure leur bien-\u00eatre et respecte leur dignit\u00e9. Un syst\u00e8me qui ne porte pas atteinte aux principes \u00e9nonc\u00e9s dans la Charte des droits et libert\u00e9s<\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n
