Biometric Passports

CCLA accepted an invitation to provide written submissions to the Director General, Legislation and International Relations Bureau, Passport Canada, regarding the introduction of biometric passports in Canada.

In May 2010, CCLA made six specific comments regarding privacy safeguards, and for each comment sought specific replies regarding the access, storage, use, retention and destruction of any information collected or shared, risks of central databases, and opportunities for redress or remedy for wrongfully identified individuals.
