We love civil liberties events!!

CCLA organizes and speaks at panels and events all across the country.  In September each year we host the RightsWatch Conference – a national conference on a civil liberties theme; our Annual General Meeting for CCLA Members also happens at this time. Each spring CCLA honours individuals for their extraordinary contributions to Canadian society and celebrates the freedoms that make their work possible at our annual fundraising gala, Celebrating Canada. Finally, we run a community discussion series called Conversations for Civil Liberties and Social Justice – check out the conversations we have coming up by looking at the event list below, or go to our Conversations web page for more information on the series. Wherever possible we try to post a video archive, photos, live blog or other materials from past events at the links below so they are available for everyone to see.

Have an event you are planning?  Want to host your own Conversation for Civil Liberties and Social Justice? CCLA staff are often available to speak on topics related to our work – just send your speaker request to dchan@ccla.org and we’ll see what we can do!  If you are a teacher looking for an educational session for your classroom, please visit our In the Schools program at http://ccla.org/education-2/in-schools/.
