CCLA speaks out on copyright reform

Over the past six weeks, thousands of Canadians have sent letters to the government’s copyright consultations. Copyright is at the heart of information exchange and expressive freedom in the private domain, and on Thursday, September 10, CCLA forwarded its submission, reflecting our concerns with ensuring an expressive, equal, and privacy-respecting society. Specifically, CCLA urged the government to fully incorporate flexible fair dealing provisions, abolish or revisit Crown copyright, and proactively ensure that any legislative reforms fully respect the equality and privacy of all Canadians.
